The race is open to participants of all ages and will kick off with a Cat Walk 1K at 10am (dogs and cats are welcome in both races). They are committed to educating and assisting the community in responsible pet ownership. \nDonations can also be made to Teachers Pet which is a 501(c)3 that facilitates animal assisted interventions for the benefit of vulnerable populations\, including but not limited to adjudicated and at-risk youth. Pairing together with harder-to-adopt\, local area shelter dogs\, they strive to provide therapeutic gains\, vocational training\, and empowerment in order to build stronger communities and improve dog adoptability. \nThe race is open to both walkers and runners or all ages. SUMMARY:10th Annual Red Moon Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:Dig Deep Race Events along with Bayne’s Apple Valley and Jolt Credit Union – and in collaboration with our friends at Runners Athletic Company\, Runnin’ Gear and Complete Runner – are inviting you to the 10th annual Red Moon Trail Run!   \nThe Race: Come out to Midland City Forest in Midland\, MI – same site as the popular Snow Moon Trail Run – as runners embark on a 5k\, 10k or 25k race along wide trails (not single track) marked by small LED lights as guides. Runners completing multiple laps will have split times as they pass through the 5k finish arch for each lap until they complete either their 10k or 25k events. A daytime 5K option is also available for those who’d like to see the course in the daylight. \nAll participants will receive a professionally timed event with Red Moon Finisher Medals and (for those of legal age) a couple of adult Beverages. Online participant photos as runners pass through the finish arch will also be made available online and will be free of charge to participants for download and sharing. \nThis year\, a portion of the proceeds from this race will be donated to the Great Lakes Bay Veterans Coalition in their mission to help service members\, veterans and their families in the Great Lakes Bay region. \nDate:  August 29\, 2026 \nEvent Start Times*:   \nPacket pickup will begin at 5PM on race day and will close at 9:00PM. \nRace Start Times: \n\nDAYTIME 5K – 6PM\nNIGHT TIME 25K – 8:15PM (NEW START TIME!)\nNIGHT TIME 10K – 8:45PM\nNIGHT TIME 5K – 9:15PM\n\n*We’ve had feedback about the 10K and 25K events starting before the 5K event and want all to know that this is being done so the 5K event can begin as close to nightfall as possible. The longer distances can begin earlier (during daylight hours) and still finish in the dark. The alternative would be to start the longer events at 9pm – which is WAY too late for many folks (a fact also obtained through feedback).\nLocation:  Midland City Forest \nAddress:  2840 E Monroe Rd\, Midland\, MI 48640 \nDistances: \n\n5K Run/Walk/Ruck\n10K Run/Ruck\n25K Run\n\nRace Registration Prices*:\n5K Run/Walk/Ruck – Day or Night (1 Lap) without shirt – $40\n5K Run/Walk/Ruck – Day or Night (1 Lap) with shirt – $45\n10K Run/Ruck (3 Laps) without shirt – $40\n10K Run/Ruck (3 Laps) with shirt – $45\n25K Run (5 Laps) without shirt – $45\n25K Run (5 Laps) with shirt – $50 \n  \n*NOTE: The option to register with a guaranteed shirt size will end on Sunday\, August 23rd at midnight so that shirt orders may be placed. Start/Finish will be in field below sledding hill rather than in parking lot and runners will turn toward point 29 at point 30. Course will be well marked. \nAmenities \nThis year\, all participants will receive a 4” finisher medal\, FREE online race photos*\, custom race bib\, and professional chip timing. \n*Our event photographer is awesome\, but there are challenges to taking night time photos of runners approaching with headlamps shining into the camera. You must be 21 years of age and will need to present a valid drivers license at packet pickup to receive refreshments. Strictly enforced. No drinks will be allowed outside of the enclosed tent area and we ask that all please respect park rules. . \nShirts will be ordered from ATS Printing on Monday\, August 24th and inventories will be added to registration.
